How This Calculation Works
Reconstitution concentration is simply the total peptide mass divided by the total diluent volume added: Concentration (mg/mL) = Peptide Amount (mg) ÷ Diluent Volume (mL). For example, reconstituting a 5 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water yields a 2.5 mg/mL solution.
Reconstitution Tips for Lyophilized Peptides
- Bring the vial to room temperature before reconstituting.
- Add diluent slowly down the inside wall of the vial rather than directly onto the powder to avoid excess foaming.
- Gently swirl — do not shake — to avoid denaturing the peptide.
- Store reconstituted solution per the vial label guidance, typically refrigerated and used within the documented stability window.
