IGF-1 LR3 is a modified analog of insulin-like growth factor-1 carrying an arginine substitution at position 3 and a 13-residue N-terminal extension. These modifications markedly reduce affinity for IGF binding proteins, and the analog is widely used as a reference ligand in preclinical models examining IGF-1 receptor signalling and downstream proliferative pathways in vitro.
